It has been a few years since our six family dairy farms started The Farmer’s Cow back in 2005. We are extremely proud of how well our brand has grown and gained recognition across Connecticut. We owe it all to our customers who feel strongly about supporting local agriculture and who have helped spread the word about The Farmer’s Cow. When we began selling ice cream
several years ago we had folks tell us that we should open an ice cream stand. We liked the idea of serving our products to our customers and made the decision to give it a try. At first we were going to just sell ice cream. Then, one of our farmers said, ‘Hey, we sell eggs and coffee too!’ So, we decided we should also serve breakfast - but then we thought, maybe we better serve lunch and dinner, ‘cause just serving eggs and ice cream would be a little weird!
Well, that’s the story of how we decided to start a café and creamery. But, it couldn’t just be a café, we’re dairy farmers with cows and calves, it needed to be a Calfé! And here you are, at The Farmer’s Cow Calfé & Creamery. We hope you enjoy our ice cream, eggs, milk bar and everything else on our menu. And remember, you can take some moo home with you too!
